On Friday 22nd September 2017 Adamson hosted a charity fundraiser on Jeans for Genes Day to raise funds for Genetic Disorders UK.
There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders and it is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and therefore 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year.
Some genetic disorders are apparent at birth while others are diagnosed at different stages throughout childhood, and sometimes into adulthood.
The funds raised on Jeans for Genes Day and throughout the year for Genetic Disorders UK helps to raise awareness of genetic disorders and to ensure that those affected receive the best level of information and support possible. Their ambition is to launch much needed support services and increase the number of grants provided to disorder-specific charities.
The staff at Adamson alongside local businesses offered amazing support and generosity by baking delicious cakes for the cake sale, donating fabulous raffle and tombola prizes and donating money. Everyone also turned up in their jeans to raise even more money!

The day was a huge success and we managed to raise £126.60 and everyone had a lot of fun (and ate a lot of cake)! We love to support good causes and help out where we can and we’re so proud of the money we raised and pleased that it will be going to help those who really need it.
