A day with Karren Brady!

Last week Rachel and I travelled to Birmingham to listen to a talk by Baroness Karren Brady. We were also lucky enough to have the chance to meet her and grab a couple of photos!

Karren Brady has spent the last 25 years breaking boundaries in business and becoming an inspiration and role model particularly to young women with an entrepreneurial spirit. From her beginnings at Saatchi & Saatchi, through to her revival of Birmingham City Football Club as Managing Director and her current position as Vice Chairman of West Ham United, she has realised her visions through ambition, determination and hard work.

Karren spoke with passion, integrity and witty humour making for an inspirational and entertaining day. She outlined the steps she has followed to achieve business success and how she balances work and family life, something she freely admits has been her biggest challenge. An open question and answer session followed where Karren offered advice on a variety of different issues presented to her and motivated the audience to keep pushing forward even in the face of adversity.

It is no surprise that she was voted by Cosmopolitan as ‘One of the 100 most powerful women in the world’; she has smashed down doors and encouraged countless other women to do the same whilst showing that if you stick to your core values and work determinedly, anything is possible.

You can watch her on the new series of the Apprentice where she works as Alan Sugar’s trusted right hand woman. She wouldn’t divulge too much information but expect lots of laughs!

Our journey back to Cheshire was spent discussing how we can incorporate Karren’s advice and ambitious attitude into our work lives and beyond.

If you ever have the opportunity to listen to or see Karren Brady, I would definitely recommend that you take it. You’ll come away feeling inspired and motivated to face your next challenge head on, whatever it might be!

I’d just like to say a huge thanks to Entrepreneurs Circle and Karren Brady for this fantastic day!
