The KBSA Specialist Magazine – Adamsons Are In It!

The Specialist Magazine is the official magazine of the Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom Specialist Association (KBSA for short). It gets delivered along with the consumer magazine, Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Magazine.

We have been featured in the April 2012 edition in the Ask The Expert section where a question is posed to specialists who offer insider advice. Chris Astley, one of our design team, answered a query on a bathroom, as highlighted below:

Question: My bathroom is a perfect square and I want to invest in a luxury new design.  How can I make the most of the ordinary space?

Chris Astley of Adamson’s answer: To really maximise the space choose wall-mounted sanitary-ware and combine with sleek storage solutions to keep the room neat.  Villeroy and Boch’s Subway Basin and Central line vanity unit is one creative option. While Keuco’s Royal Reflex range uses glass fronted units to give a real impression of luxury.  Use bold colours to show off your individuality with the furniture and accessories.  if possible install a wet room shower with a glass dividing panel to enhance the appearance of space.  This allows for a full uncluttered floor area with minimal visual interruption between the walls.  Tiling the walls and the floors in the same finish can look fantastic.  I like to use a large tile to reduce the grout lines and reduce visual design interruptions.  Getting the lighting correct is very important too.  Don’t just install lights in a neat grid in the ceiling, position them to highlight features within the room.  Using light from an illuminated mirror cabinet can be great on its own, or help to create a really relaxed atmosphere with candles.               Chris Astley, Designer, Adamson’s Interiors
